Petten – 24 November 2021
The 2021 SET Plan Progress Report – Contributing to the EU Green Deal and the path forward to a green recovery, is released today ahead of the 15th SET Plan conference in Bled, organised by the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) is the core mechanism that bridges national and European R&I programmes for technological developments in clean energy solutions.
The 2021 edition of the report features three interconnected chapters that cover the political relevance of the SET Plan, the main collective developments of the last 12 months, and a concise overview of the individual achievements of the working groups.
The Report includes an overview of the adaptation measures taken by the working groups in view of the changing policy landscape and market developments. It also highlights that cross-sectoral collaboration has increased, both within and beyond the SET Plan. Another positive development is the improved monitoring of research and innovation (R&I) at national level, and stronger support for increases in public and private R&I funds.
The Report, along with this year’s conference, will be one of the key contributions to the process for strengthening and improving the SET Plan in 2022.
The report is available on the JRC Publications Repository.
