The European University Association (EUA) is pleased to invite you to the 1st Energy & Environment Clustering Event, on “Energy, environment and us: Circular economy and the role of citizens”. The conference will take place on 23-24 September 2019 and is co-organised by the EUA Energy & Environment Platform (EUA-EPUE) and Durham University.
The event will offer an exciting new platform to explore the themes with confirmed renowned speakers such as Benjamin Sovacool (University of Sussex), Linda Steg (University of Groningen), Eric Brangier (Université de Lorraine), and a contribution by Walter R. Stahel, a key thinker behind the circular economy concept. A roundtable session with representatives from Energy UK, the municipality of Groningen (NL) and the Trondheim Living Lab (NO) will bring forward concrete initiatives in cities engaging people in changing their energy consumption habits for a cleaner-energy society.
The EUA-EPUE Clustering Events provide a unique angle to the topics while putting them at the intersection of research, teaching and institutional engagement. In this context, the parallel sessions on “Consumers and Citizens” and “Circular Economy”, as well as the World Café setting will provide opportunities to exchange first-hand experiences among university leaders supporting and developing energy research and education activities.
Participation in the event is free of charge, while registration is mandatory. We encourage early registration to ensure a place.
