Description
The technical balancing potential of district heating and cooling networks amounts to between 35 and 100 GW by 2050, according to modelling scenarios. Active control of the networks and their components (e.g. cogeneration plants, heat pumps, boilers, and thermal storage) allows to provide balancing services to the power grid while providing heat to the end-consumers.
